First thing i noticed on one of the trailers was this very cool barbecue grill that mounts to the side of the unit. Im going to research this further and find out if the barbecue itself can be purchased separately. I will let you guys know what i find.
Second stop was the Sportsmobile display. They had the new Sprinter 4x4 model on display.
Tons of head room in the new Sprinter model.
Yosh and I really liked the original plan of the Ford van. We sat down and talked with sales rep about turn around time and current pricing. Right now a fully custom van is about $102k with up to a 5 month production time. Of course we dont have that kind of money laying around so asked about financing. They said that you would need 15% down and then they go ahead and do a 15 year finance on it.
The inside of the Sportsmobile was really nicer than i thought it was going to be. The couch folds out to a bed on the bottom and the top portion has a bed too. Both of them are 6 foot. There's a porta potty that comes out from under neath the sink area also. Tons of storage space everywhere.

Next stop was the Earthroamer display. They had both rigs on display. The F550 Ford crew cab rig and the Jeep. We were really excited to see the new Jeep. We talked with Bill Swails for a little bit and congratulated him and the team on getting the beast through the Rubicon with Scott Brady. Bill was a super nice guy and really down to earth. They had the video going the whole time from the Rubicon trail. It was very impressive.
Yosh already liked the new wranglers and this was like icing on the cake. Now she needed to figure out if they could make one in bright yellow.
I was really surprised at how much sleeping room there was in the bed area. It was huge. The seat cushion goes down in the bottom portion of the rig. They just had it moved up there to show the porta potty construction.
The white version hasn't been seen by anyone yet until this show. I think it looks really clean.
Unfortunately i got caught up looking at the jeep and never got a picture of the F550. For more info go to earthroamer.com
After seeing the Earthroamer vehicles it was time to see the monster of all expedition rigs. The Unicat. The Unicat is insanely huge and built on a big rig chassis. It truly can go anywhere you point it. As long as it fits! You can see just large the rig is in this pic with Yosh standing next to it.
Yosh and I pretending like we are gonna drive off in the beast. The cab is so comfy. Air suspension leather captains chairs make a long ride feel like you never left your living room couch.
The inside of the Unicat is almost marine like. Everything is white and straight to the point. No bells or whistles that are not needed. No big flat screens, stainless fridges or granite counter tops.
Shot of the control panel
Not only did the Unicat have a monster winch up front but it sported one in the rear too.
If you're interested in the Unicat, find more info on their website at unicat.net
Oh yeah and bring your wallet. The Unicat runs about $600k, yes that's $600,000.00 US Dollars.
