Calico cleanup was this weekend. This event was put on by tons of great people, clubs and generous support from major manufacturers. I had a great time running into fellow 4 wheelers and offroaders that shared the same interest - keeping our trails clean and OPEN!
They split us into large groups. Heading out with Group 8 and tons of Fj40's up ahead of me.
We stopped out at the northwest corner of the Yermo Valley to start picking up trash.
We mostly found broken glass, wood and shotgun shells. However, Mo seemed to find a entire car!!! He ended up towing it behind his Cruiser out to the main highway, where a tow truck would come get it later. We were very proud to find that someone in our immediate group was responsible for hauling out such a wreck.
After picking up trash for a few hours, we headed back to eat some lunch. We worked up quite the appetite.

The line grew like the Rolling Stones on a reunion tour! It was incredible food. They served up carne asada, beans, rice and tortilla chips. We never heard any complaints of the food being bad. 
Nice quiet place to eat and stay out of the wind. Didn't know my tailgate would be so perfect!
After lunch we ran up to Doran Canyon and watched some people tackle 'the gate keeper'.
After checking out the trail and realizing the time, we headed back to the raffle and then home for the day. The rest of the group finished up and ran up doran canyon and down odessa canyon.
(2) 40' roll off's were overfilled with scrap metal and (3) additional 40' roll off containers were filled with trash and crap. (5) dumped vehicles were recovered. All of the graffiti was removed, (2) kiosks were installed, and 200 trail markers were installed with BLM. Over $4500 raised from the raffle for Blue Ribbon Coalition, Friends of the Rubicon, and Discovery Trails.
