This years Overland Expo gathered people from all over the world once again in southern Arizona. Amado AZ to be exact. A place where many haven't heard of, just about in mainland Mexico and in desert ranch country.
As like previous years there would be tons of rigs on display, vendors showing cool gear and interesting and informative classes and shows. This year we chose to be a display exhibitor with our expedition outfitted landcruiser 80 series and SoCal Tear drop Krawler 459. We had a great spot, next to the famous and wordly Turtle III. It was a true honor.
On the other side of us was the Arizona Rover club.
I think the Rover clubs D90 was outfitted even more than our Landcruiser. It reminded me of the Tomb Raider rig, i was waiting for Lara Croft to come popping out of it. Regardless, It was stunning though.
All the big names were there. Sporsmobile, Unicat, Global Expedition Vehicles, BMW, AEV, just to name a few. They all had the newest coolest stuff on display.
The classes and the real world experiences were abundant and plentiful as well.
There's not a whole lot else to say other than there was a ton of Overland/Expedition stuff to get inspired by and learn from. With that i will just post a bunch of photos and let you salivate over what you could of saw in person if only you had attended.
Prepare for overland photo overload..
Tobias was his name and he's big enough to be an Expedition Vehicle. Heck, you could ride him around the world. He even comes with a spare tank for water or fuel.
After all that.. we were ready to hit the road homeward. Worn out and tired of getting sand blasted from the constant wind.
So anyways, our last night before heading back to reality was "Poor Mans Baja", and let me tell you.. it didn't bring the suck.
Dixie didn't care where she was as long as the sun was out..
A good friend joined us after a bit..
Happy girls..
Dixie and I enjoying a cold one and the sunset in peace and quiet.
The next morning we woke up and took our time getting out of camp because we were heading straight for the office to catch up on work. It would only be a three hour drive so it wasn't too terribly bad. The last night was the best in my book by far.
I want to thank Linda Jones (Suntinez) for shooting a ton of photos for us because we were too busy with the show to even walk around with the camera. Without her we wouldn't have much of a report at all. So big thanks Linda.
